I am hoping someone can help me, I have a 10 year old purple smoke tree, looks healthy, beautiful dark maroon/purple leaves. The tree blooms and then the panicles fall off, it never has looked like others I have seen - never looked 'fuzzy'. I have seen this same tree bloooming in my area of PA, so it is not the growing zone. It is now just starting to get the buds and I am hoping someone can tell me what to do to help the blooms stay on this year so the tree gets the smokey look. Thanks in advance for any replies.
