OK, this one corn plant, while all the others were beginning to tassel, started having silk coming out of the top. Then it had a bit of tassel, then more silk.

I've saved the beast, the plant let die and dry up naturally, and I'm going to plant the few seeds to see if they come up, and if I have a new kind of corn with one cob at the top.

Or maybe it's a throwback to sorghum?
