Sprouting in a neighbors garden bed. Hasn't flowered yet and I have no clue what it may be. Zone 6 growing in full sun in a neat little row. Thanks for any help or clues.

Boy, this looks familiar. I have some Mexican Petunia started and it looks a little like that, but I'm also thinking of some kind of phlox. Does you neighbor know, in case we don't come up with it here?

It looks a lot like narrow Leaved Sunflower - they will grow to 7' and 8' tall and bloom in the fall.

Narrow-leaved sunflower, Helianthus angustifolius has alternate leaves, but this plant has opposite leaves.
In that respect it's like phlox, but it doesn't look like any phlox that I am familiar with.

Helianthus angustifolius also has stiff, almost leathery foliage. The foliage of this one looks more like Phlox carolina 'Miss Lingard' [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]

I have seen taller phlox that looks like this, and I can't say for sure, but it would be my guess
