It doesn't make one whit's worth of difference in the significant point, that the Red Poppy helps you in your honoring those who fought--but I do need to mention, just every so briefly, that the Red "Flanders" poppy is aligned with Nov 11, Armistice Day, commemorating the signing of the Armistice ending WWI. In Canada, where I spent most of the 70's, the last half of October & into November, their VFW folks go about selling the Red Poppy Pins to raise remembrance, and money.
