If you can't catch the traveling Lippizzan Show and are lucky enough to be near Wadsworth, Ilinois (north of Chicago) in the summer, you can see Lippizzans at Tempel Lippizzan Farms. These horses are also descendents from the rescued horses in Austria. The shows are on Wed. and Sunday, rain or shine. You can see the mares and foals (foals are black for the first few years of their life) grazing in the hundreds of acres surrounding the farm.
I volunteer at a wonderful little horse therapy farm for disabled kids in Union Grove, WI (Midwest Therapeutic Riding Program) and Tempel Lippizzan Farms has been very generous to our program. They have donated tack and have allowed us to have our annual fundraiser at their arena each spring. (Making Dreams Come True)
