How do I know when it's ready? What is it supposed to do? It's about a foot tall, but no sign of anything but leaves and stems. Is that all it does? Can I eat it now?
It come with no directions, so I'm kindof at a loss. Can't find pictures, either.
Cat. It is a sprouting broccoli, It is a big plant, gets three to 4 feet tall and when ready is full of side shoots. The heads are not very big, but lots of them. Does a lot better as a fall broccoli, because early is relative and relative to to the short season hybrids, it is not early. [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com] I have not grown it since the 60's when Burpee use to sell a version of it.
Okay, that makes sense, and I'm pretty sure you warned me when I first planted it. I'll eat this as is, and plan for fall. When would be the best time to start here? I'm also 8a, according to some new lists. I'm planning to replant peas and tomatoes for fall, as well all the "greens".
Thanks, as always...
