Now I am also a gardener thought some what a lazy one. The other evening I went out to check on some seedling. Now in one of pots the seedling had died, but to my surprise there was some kind of growth. It was brownish and feeled up the pot. Now my eyes do work to good up close and I did not have those darn glasses on. Was only a foot from the pot
Well at first I thought that it was some kind of fungus. As I tried to focus on it I saw that it was kind of fussy. Suddenly I saw tiny bright beady spots, five set. Wait a minute there was five pointy things sticking out of the "plant".

Stairing up at me where five baby wrens!

Early that day there had been a small electic fire on the carport and the babies had left their nest on the carport shelf. Unfortently they only stay there a short time and my camera battiers where died. I feel that their mother parked them there will she looked for a night roost for them.

That's what happens when you grow good bird "seed."
