I loved your article, Tamara--partly because--well, it's just interesting. But partly because I love this sage and wish I could grow it! It probably would be an annual in my Zone 7 garden--though perhaps I could shelter or bring it in for the winter. (I've lost one already and haven't tried it again.)

Does anyone know anything about a Carl Nielsen salvia (AKA S. mohavensis x clevelandii)? Saw it in Tucson at the Sonora Desert Museum and immediately fell in love with it. But I can't find it for sale anywhere--or even any info on it. (Yeah, I know--it's still going to be too tender for my zone.) It has very deep blue flowers:
