I lost the tag for this plant and since it did not come up last year I forgot that I planted it. Any help will be appreciated.

imzadi - Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at the DG plant files and they all say perennials. This definitely comes up only every other year and I ruined one because I didn't know anything was planted in that spot.

I think this is a member of the Spiderwort family sub species Tradescantia, I have quite a few but my white ones have blue centres.

kwanjin - Yes, that is Astilbe next to it. ViV47 - It does look like the perennial Spiderwort, but I am still puzzled, as my white one blooms only every other year. (It does not even come out of the ground on alternate years). I have a lot of the perennial Spiderwort as shown in the photo below with the primrose, but the leaves are different from the one I am trying to identify.
