This is a west facing area between the front deck & the garage..it is also part of the drain field from under the house so we have started a dry river bed design in it but I cannot bear the look so far...the soil is very sandy/decomposed granite sorta texture. I only have planting area agains the wall which the kitchen window is on...what really has me bugged is the drain pipe comes right down in complete view & on the garage wall is all of the utility panel...it is no longer necessary to have it read so can cover it...I have thought of lattice, maybe a trellis or two but have no idea what would grow in there that is deer proof...must, must be deer proof, they come right up & eat anything hanging off the deck, I do not want to fence it...if you have some thoughts, please help me...it is driving me mad...Thank you, Deb
