Nice article, most people think that a bonsai is just a tree in a flat pot but it is indeed a whole thing and truly the harmony of shapes and colors between the bonsai itself, underplantings and the pot has to be taken in consideration.
As for weed I have another definition; 'a weed is a plant which you don't know how to use'. And some species considered and treated as weed in France I used as food here on Reunion (well, the same goes with nettles in Europe, most people hate it while it is such a tasty and iron rich plant!)
