    I live in Florida. Our springs are so hot, I'm concerned that your plastic bag method would "cook" the apples. As with tarps used to cover plants during our freezes, wouldn't the lack of air circulation and build-up of heat be too much for plastic-sealed apples during mid-day heat?

    I wondered this myself, but Illinois summers can get into the 90s, and it doesn't seem to have harmed them.

    I think the thing to do with a new technique like this is to try it on a few fruits and see how it works.
