Southern gardeners should try heliotrope or the old name turnsole. Old fashioned plants put off a heavenly smell of cherry vanilla - hybrids not as scented but are growing well in a full southern exposure in north Texas & takes only 1"f water a week. Also attracts butterflies like crazy & no dead heading. Just keeps on blooming pretty little purple flowers all summer!
