I got some hoya cuttings from my mother a couple weeks ago and have had them in water. I thought they would have sprouted a couple roots by now, but this is my first hoya and I've never grown one from a cutting. I asked her and she said she never waits for roots and just puts them in dirt (and they always make it, I've seen it). I'm just a little nervous about doing that, I don't have good luck sometimes with cuttings! They are still looking good in the water and I have about six of them, would they be ok in dirt now after being in water for a couple weeks?

I have a hoya so your question got my curiosity up and I did some looking around on the net. I found a site that has some good info on rooting hoya cuttings. I was surprised that it can take up to a year to root some hoyas. Also, if you put the cuttings in upside down, it can still eventually root but it will take longer. The site is:

The info that pertains to rooting is down at the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.
