Dwarf mondo, and mondo grass are frequently used as ground cover. This usually in ares where there is no foot traffic or it is very limited. I'm not sure that it would stand up to a lot of traffic.

I would go with the mondo. I have a fear of long vines that lay on the ground. Too many insects and creatures can hide in there. When I lived in Savannah, we had areas with vines that would harbor snakes and rodents. I don't like ivy for this same reason.

Thanks pennefeather- I don't care for creatures either. I bought a few pieces of Asiatic Jasmine. I think that I will try mondo as well. If it doesn't work I can always put it some where else.
