    I sure can relate to the wet and dry thing. I had killed many daylilies before I learned that "drought-tolerant" eastern U.S.-style is not "drought-tolerant" California-style.

    Yes, full sun in South Florida is quite different than full sun in most areas. That's one reason I'm a big fan of native plants. Like us native Floridians, they can take the heat!
