Hello all,
A friend recovering from surgery gave me an orchid which had stopped blooming and was given to her just prior to her surgery. I have looked and scanned all the various combinations of the grower's tag, but I am completely at a loss. I was hoping that someone could play, "Name that Orchid" with me since I truly have decided it is a puzzle that only a very experienced orchid enthusiast could solve as the tag is completely cryptic--at least to me, likely not to you! I will type it precisely as it is printed on the tag, and leave the decoding to an expert or a non-amateur enthusiast. Here goes, I've searched DG and I just can't seem to figure it out:
Stime. Kelly 'Lea'
(B. Nodosa x Ctna. Keith Ross)
That's it...I can tell you that the plant has leaves which are about 5-6" long in general and remind me of Cymbidiums' in that they grow very close together and are like very dark green, day lily-type growth. The flowers appeared to have been short, straight stems with several blossoms on either side of the stick-like stem and that the came out of multiple leaf centers and grew straight up...roots over the top of the pot and some a bit fuzzy. I hope that helps. Thanks so much!
Sincerely
Thor
