I have a 2 piece bird bath that has three cracks radiating out from inside to outside...fissures really, my husband put a coating of asphalt sealer (don't ask!!) to try to seal it, no go, the stuff peeled off (Thank Goodness!!)..my question is: I have a bunch of blue wine bottles as well as green...can I break them, use them as mosaic pieces, glue them on the completely dry bath part, inside & out, then grout & seal??? would it keep it from completely breaking??? seal it??? and look beautiful all at the same time???? Thank you for your suggestions & experience. I have never done mosaics before but keep this site on my favorites because I've always been so intrigued & have numerous books on working with concrete & mosaics, just never had the courage or the incentive to get busy...this will do it, for sure...Help, Please...Deb

it should work because when you seal the grout you are making it so no water or dirt gets into the grout--i have a pot i put tiles on years ago with grout between but did not seal it--it has held up great but now has a crack in it--i sealed it all now and hope that it holds together--i think it will because now the water won't seep into the grout--that will be very pretty but be careful of that broken glass! it might be difficult to work with

The thing is our resident deer drink from it during the summer...we fill it 3-4 times a day...Robins bathe daily in it...I really want the silly thing to be a bath and we just don't have the extra money to buy anything else right now...this fuel price was something we didn't factor in when we retired 3yrs ago...hurts...Deb
