Beginner Gardening Questions: hens but no chicks!

Author Content monkapotamus Winston Salem, NC June 30, 2008 8:55 PM Post #5184979 I have several sempervivum (hens and chicks) that are getting ready to bloom, but haven't produced any chicks. Anyone have any thoughts on why? They're in mostly full sun, the soil might be on the clay-ey side for them.
