We have 13 stairs w/ a slight bend/turn. ea. stair is 30 in. wide. So roughly 7+ yards? I will get this @ the Mill End store where all their carpet is 12 ft. wide. So would a piece 12 x 8 be sufficient?

You need to measure the rise and depth of the steps as well as allow for the bull-nose wraparound for each.
Are you going to leave the sides of each step exposed, or carpet the entire tread?

There's a flooring calculator for your home... you can add islands, shape the entire room you are trying to carpet, tile or install hardwood (or any other floor in) and then it will calculate the square footage to the exact tee. Its great.. helps save some big money so you dont over spend... and it will save some garage space for the extra you dont use!:)
