Thanks critter for bringing this luvly to our attention. Dare I try it? Maybe against the foundation of the house in a sheltered spot?

I planted two of them last year to climb my arbor here in Zone 5b, but when spring came they were both dead.

:-(

I wish I knew more about their hardiness or how to give them a better chance to overwinter in colder climates... maybe the experts in the rose forum would have some suggestions for you.

Three houses & many years ago I planted a "Zeffy" beside the gate to our swimming pool, on an ugly chainlink fence. It did get sun all day but it also was completely exposed to all the elements including winds blowing across the open fields - this in central Ontario (zone 4-5). It did just fine in a spot where I had been unable to get anything else to thrive & I certainly didn't pamper it. I must get another for this house. ...busylizzycat
