I posted this on the NE Forum for all of my NE DG friends. Here is the shortened story: Went to a local garden center, I'm a MG and a fellow MG works there (his family owns it), and I was walking by their 1 gallon perennial table, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Peony ITOH. I stopped, and was like, "Hmmmm." I picked the 1 gallon pot up, and it said Peony ITOH 'Bartzella.' I squeaked I was so excited, I walked up to him and was like, "Um, how much is this?" He told me, "$8.99, and they are 30% off." (Squeaked again.) I asked if he had any others. He had THREE (3) Tres Numero THREE-O, so I purchased 3, 1 gallon sized 'Bartzella's' all for under $20!!!

A few days ago, I went to a nursery that I thought was closed. I found out that the nursery in fact did close, and new peeps took it over 2 years ago. I was walking through their perennial section, and almost tripped over a whole row of tree peonies. I squeaked (I tend to do this when shocked with excitement) It was 'Kinkaku.' I love the odd color of this tree peony, it's not a purple, pink, mauve, white, yellow, or red/white, it's that orangey/coppery blend. $10. It cost $10.

I'm in Peony heaven.

Just had to share!
