I figure this must be a weed of some sort. Its big leaves hug the ground and then it sends up several tall stems -- I guess they will bloom... I am hoping to find out what it is BEFORE it blooms in case I need to get them out now! Thanks for looking at this.

I think it'll need to wait for the flowers. That still leaves plenty of time before any seeds are ripe, in case it turns out to be invasive.

After a couple days of researching, it looks like it could be Elephantopus tomentosus ("devil's grandmother")...

nifty413-----Thank you, thank you, thank you! I looked and looked with no success. Elephantopus tomentosus it is! Also called elephant foot...descriptive of the large leaves on the ground. Don't know how invasive it is, but I'm going to leave the ones I have to see what happens next year...
