I don't really know a whole lot about shrubs, so I'm hoping that somebody will be able to identify this shrub that is flowering right now. The leaves in the upper left do belong to this shrub.

Looks like one of the pesky privets (Ligustrum spp.).

It does seem to be a Ligustrum...it's hard to tell which species, as there be multiple cultivars for some species. If I had to take a guess, some form of L. obtusifolium or L. vulgare... This is the only remaining plant from the 10 or 15 that we had five years ago. We tore most of them out and replaced them with perennials. This one's still growing under a pine tree.

Almost all of the northerly hardy species are considered invasives, so exact ID doesn't faze me.

I'd eliminate it in favor of more than 20 other flowering/fruiting shrubs hardy to Michigan conditions that are ornamental and not pestiferous.

Yeah, I went out to look at the leaves, and it matches L. vulgare pretty well. Thanks everyone for their help!

My family eliminated nearly every one of these plant five or six years ago. They were in a line probably 35' long. I don't really care for shrubs that much, but this one's just hanging around. It's hard to even notice that the shrub is there, it's rather inconspicuous, so it'll probably end up staying there. I don't want to deal with the pine tree that's effectively hiding it.

Leaves look a bit too large and broad to me for L. vulgare. I'd suspect one of the eastern Asian species.
