I read about this particular columbine in a book about the best perennials for IL, but haven't been able to find a source for one anywhere...
It's supposed to bloom for a couple of months, according to the book ~ does anyone know about it, or where I can find one? Am I on a wild goose chase?
This variety of columbine is also known as granny's bonnet. It is sold at Annie annuals, but is out of stock it appears. You can make a wish list and they will notify you when it becomes availabe.

Thompson & Morgan has a large selection of Columbine seed that are very lovely and may help if you are not able to find the one you want right now.
Good luck..
I have been looking for Hensol Harebell for a while, too. I had some seeds, but no luck germinating them. One British site I found, listed the Hensol Harebell Columbine as 'rare'. If you do have any luck finding them, please let me know!!
