| I would like to offer Paypal as an option for people to pay for my items, but when someone pays me via Paypal, Paypal takes the seller's fee out of it, like it was an item I sold on e-Bay. Is there any way to get around that or is that just the way it is with Paypal? |

| Hi Kelli. I sell plants on E-bay and here . They take a fee out no matter what because you are using them to process your payment. No way around it unless of course they pay by personal check or money order. |

| Thanks. I was wondering if that just was the way it was or if I had something set up wrong. |

| Kelli,
The PayPal fees are not connected with eBay. It is their charge for processing the payment -- there's no free lunch on this one, as everyone charges for payment processing -- but you can also use PayPal to send invoices, print packing slips, and print on-line reduced-price postage, and there is no extra fee for this.

| My daughter sent her son money to his PayPal account and there was no PayPal charge for that. I have sent my daughter money many times from my PayPal account to hers also -- no PayPal charge.
PayPal only charges when you are paid for a sale. That's why if you invoice from PayPal and then the person sends you a check or money order you cannot pay for the postage and print a shipping label there. It was not a PayPal sale as such.

| if you have a premier account, they charge a fee--period. If you want to accept credit cards as an option, your account must be either premier or business. |

| I'm sorry, but I do not understand your statement that if you have a premier account they charge a fee--period. I have a premier account and they charge me no fees for sending money to a friend or a family member. They also do not charge me for transferring money from my PP account to my bank account. I do not have a debit card on my PP account, but I believe that transferring money to and from the debit card also does not have PP fees. The only PP fees I pay are on the payments for sales that are paid for through PP.
From the PP web site: "It's free to sign up for a PayPal account or to send money to friends and family. You can also transfer funds from your bank accounts to your PayPal account at no charge."
Sending money to a friend or a family member is free regardless of whether you have a premier account or a regular account.

| When I get paid by DG for articles that I have written, no fee is taken out. When people send me money for things I am selling or just to reimburse for postage, a fee is taken out. |

| thank you Susan--if I get money from anyone for any reason, I am charged a fee on a premier/business account
yes, they transfer money to my bank account for free too--almost on a daily basis I might add--I earn my living off PayPal (and they earn theirs off me); its a mutually parasitic relationship
They'll transfer it anywhere I please for free--but if I get any money, they charge me--PERIOD

| Everyone can have 2 accounts - personal and premier - on a personal account you can accept up to $500 for sales in a month - no fees - you can accept CC but they get charde 5% - only 5 CC transactions/mo - if you have two accounts and just have those using CC use the premier - saves them money |

| Dutchlady1,
The payee can choose what the payment is for. I think maybe Dave's Garden is putting their payment in as Services/Other so that's why you're not being charged PayPal fees on those payments. Call PayPal and ask them. Whether you have a premier account or only a personal account, you should not be charged PayPal fees on money that is sent to you from family and friends. That should be free. You should only be charged PayPal fees on sales. Also if you send money to family and friends from your account, that person should not be charged PayPal fees either.
