We have a forest pansy redbud in Indiana, Pennsylvania. It is 4 years old and is just a fantastically beautiful tree! We even transplanted it last summer and it is doing just wonderful. In fact, it is doing better since the transplant than it was doing in its original location! We can hardly wait for it to bloom in the spring! I would recommend this tree highly. It just looks breathtaking all summer and after a nice rain it looks even more beautiful, just like it's saying, "thanks for the shower!"

What a beautiful tree! Thanks for sharing. It is so lovely; I'm glad it didn't mind the transplant. (Cute doggie in the picture, too).

I planted a Forest Pansy early this Spring and it seems to be doing pretty well. Does anyone know if it is normal for there to not yet be any leaves at the top of the tree? I have four small redbuds in my yard and they all have leaves in the bottom part of the tree but none up top. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Strange. Did it get pruned?

Is the top in the shade?

Do others in your area have leaves at the top?

    Did they bloom?

    Thanks,
