| I posted this on another site and was encouraged to post it here. My DH made this from scratch a few years ago. He is pretty handy and can do lots of different things. I had not seen this site before. It is really neat. I have other things I may post later that either he or I have done in the past.

| I have looked at this since you first posted it and have neglected to say anything. I think your husband did an awesome job and anyone would be proud to have one like it. If he enjoys doing things like that he has the potential for a side business. |

| Thanks to you all for the compliments. DH likes to do things like this but just when ever he is inspired and doesn't care to do repeats. He is retired now but actually he did this when he still was working. Have not meant to ignore you all. We just got back Sun. a.m. from a 17 day stay on Kauai Hawaii after a total of 15hrs of plane delays. Sure not fun traveling right now. At least it was all on the way back and not on the way over! Lots of yard work etc. to catch up on now.

| Pagancat, No DH did it all with tin snips. It did take a while and he is a perfectionist. Actually the picture is from the back side of the gate. The whole thing is copper, rod, sheet or pipe except for the glass decoration. If he had a plasma cutter "maybe" I could get him to do more things! It was a lot of work.

| Jazzpunkin, I'll try to get out when the sun is on it in the evening to take a picture from the out side. Still busy trying to catch up on yard work etc. from being gone. The weeds and grass sure came to life in 2 1/2 weeks of neglect!

| Ugh - it's not facing the street, is it? - people are stealing copper left and right. A lot of new construction sites are having people rip out entire electrical systems, just for the wiring.
And a thing of that beauty, that would be a shame to have it melted down. |

| Pagancat, It is facing a state high way. We live in a tiny rural area of maybe 90 people and no stores or anything. There is a 45 mile speed limit but no one ever goes that slow. I've heard of copper being stolen from construction sights here to. So far so good for the gate tho. We have a lot of trees etc. so it isn't real obvious now that it isn't shiny. Also DH says to make sure you know we have a watch dog. That is a joke, she is a Toy Fox Terrier/ Jack Russell and maybe weighs 10 lbs. at the most. She does make a lot of noise tho "yip yip"
Yes, we would be really ticked off if it disappeared. Thanks for the compliments and the concern.
