Can I just vent for a second? Only other parents could possibly understand and thus this is a great place (I hope) to get my frustrations out. I have a 3 year old boy who bypassed the terrible twos and went straight to horrid threes!! He is seriously defiant and has recently taken to hitting. Gonna have to look up on ways to deal with it. The problem is we also have a 5 year old girl (who is well behaved for the most part) and I watch other kids- right now a 9 y/o boy and two 7 y/o girls. Keeping them busy and not fighting is half the battle. Poor David is feeling left out which is understandable but not much can be done at the moment! The daycare kids love me even though I am strict and don't let them run around like animals and or dogpile my daughter...I can just imagine cracked ribs there!
I took our two down to see my parents while DH caught up on work over the 4th of July weekend. They live 4 hours away and it was a loooong weekend for me with no breaks at home without the added kids. I am soooo exhausted right now! Come Saturday we will be leaving before dawn for a 2 week road trip to CA and OR, WITH the kids and I am wondering how the heck I am going to get everything packed. I feel ready to break down! I don't have depression issues and the children are in no danger- I just needed to vent out the need to chill for a day- ALONE! How you single parents do it I have not a clue but my heart goes out to you, especially if you have little ones!!! I know teenagers can have their moments too, UGH!
