I thought I'd planted a Cassia Tree last spring, but I think I gave TLC and MG to a weed now that it has bloomed, can anyone ID this please

If it's a wed, it's a pretty one! The only weed I've seen like that has yellow flowers on it.

Those leaves could certainly be a Cassia (Senna?) ... do you know which one it was supposed to be? Are those red things blooms or pods or what? I t kind of reminds me of an Erythrina aka Coral Bean.

I think it's Sesbania punicea, it's a relatively common weed in the south. There are a few other weedy Sesbania species but that's the one I know of that has reddish flowers [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]

Thanks ecrane3, after looking at the pictures in the plant files I definately think it is the serbania panicea. It is a pretty weed so think I'll just let it grow and keep an eye on it, can always cut it down. Thanks once again.

It'll get big, obvious seedpods, if you pull those off before they fall off or split open then it can't spread.
