I purchased my first one many, many years ago and through tough jobs and poor end of season care, it finally died. I purchased the gas 4 stroke this time. It really does go through anything, even my clay soil. One can purchase additional items ( 2 different ones) to deal with roots and stuff that tangle around the tines. I'm in my 60's with a huge garden to deal with by myself. This Mantis is my great garden buddy!

I'm glad to hear so many other folks echo my enthusiastic recommendation for this little machine! :-)
