I wonder it's a stupid question. I've this Agave americana and not sure it's a variegata or Marginata. What is the different between them? Or they're the same? I hope that someone can help. Thanks in advance!

I read Resin's explaination too. Then I found this site that says they're synonymous: [HYPERLINK@www.sanmarcosgrowers.com] No matter what it is, it's a beautiful specimen.

I have one that looks exactly like it that was sold to me as marginata, but I suspect they are either synonymous or often confused by both buyers and sellers.Lynn The explanation I read was by faeden.

Thank you very much. I take it as marginata, though the explanations in these two links are contradict.

There are several varieties of Agave americana.

According to Mary & Gary Irish, your plant with wavy falling arches is Agave americana var. marginata 'Aurea'.

The plant gets huge if you give it room (larger pot in your area).
