Hi Paul,

Welcome to DG! The lily seed pods need to turn brown before you pick them for saving. They need to dry on the plant. There are some exceptions where the seeds will mature off the plant, but not many.

Fuchsia is one of the plants I wish I could grow. However, I did find a couple of places that have instructions on rooting fuchsia cuttings:

[HYPERLINK@reviews.ebay.com]

[HYPERLINK@www.bonsaigarden.net] (has photos on this one)

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Karen

Thanks to both of you for spelling fuchsia correctly.

They like cool and damp. Such as in the UK?

Yep, they like cool and damp -- not a description of Alabama weather -- at least not for very long at any one time. LOL.
