I read the article on the Zephyr Squash and just had to try it ,I ordered seeds from Johnie's selected Seeds and planted them on June 16th..They came up fine and grew very fast and I was able to harvest one squash in one month and got another today ..The only thing is that they look like a Delacata ,but all of the other ones that are on the plants look like they are supposed to look ..They are simply delicious maybe the best eating squash I have ever grown ..I have high hopes that they will turn out to be big producers ..I garden in Southeast Oklahoma and much like you have big troubles with growing Zuchinnii..Will let y'all know how this works out ..Grits
True to my words I am keeping up to date on the Zephyr ,several days ago they were under attack by some Squash bugs and I didn't pay close enough attention until it was almost too late . with some careful spraying and lots of hand picking I now seem to have these evil creatures under control ..I am including a picture of one that I managed to capture..
