I am looking at online catalog sources or stores I can actually drive to...no custom work here. I want some new valances for the kitchen and I don't want the thin flimsy fabrics you typically find at the store. Lowe's here used to have a wide assortment of THICK valances with some nice patterns but none of the colors were quite right for me. Believe me, I was so tempted to just buy some anyhow because they were nice and thick and added volume to the window.

But they've changed selection again and the new ones aren't as "padded" a look.

No I don't want to stuff them with newsprint as we used to growing up. Just want the quality fabric in a pattern that's nice.

I know folks who only buy curtains from the JCP catalogs which I may well do but still, that's site unseen for now.

Does anyone have other recommendations?
