Could you tell me what would make alot of my seed pods on my Daylily dry all up? They are getting plenty of water this summer we are getting more rain than last year plus I water. Do I dead head them too soon would that affect the seed pod?
If the flower doesn't get pollinated it won't usually produce seeds. Is it possible your flowers have had no visitors? Also, some daylilies are just sterile. Has this one produced viable seeds before?
Yes and to make it clear there are some pods that did develope but then I noticed alot that just were shriveling right up and I've not seen that many before, but I didn't think about the fact that maybe they just haven't been visited by bees that makes sense now. And with the fact that the bee population is having problems too.
Thanks so much it answers my mystery.
