OK, I'm fairly certain this is a weed because I know I didn't plant it. It just appeared amongst the dahlias.
When it first came up the seedlings looked like zinnias, which I did plant, but...nope..not zinnia.
However, it's not exactly ugly, so if it's not invasive, I may keep it. :)
Anyone know what it is? Those white flowers are about maybe 1/4" across or so. The plants are about 12" tall.
It looks to be in the Rubiaceae, the Coffee Family. I think it may be Richardia brasiliensis, a native of South America. Good time of year for it to be in your area.
It is widely naturalized.
Metro: I looked it up and I think you nailed it. It seems that whether it's invasive or not depends on your heat zone.
I think I'll let it stay for now, but will watch it...closely.
