I often got these plant to play when I was a child. It really a memories for me. Such beautifull memories lead me to the world of plants and heavy interest in environmental issue.
I would like to have one and plant it again since I couldnt find it again when I am grown up.
I would like to ask the name of these fragrant plants ^^
I can't make out the leaves really well, but it looks like it belongs to the Rubiaceae family.
There are hundreds of plants in that family, so narrowing it down could be a task. You could take a look at Alibertia, Atractocarpus, Fagerlindia, Prismatomeris, Conostomium, Kailarsenia, and Exostema to start with.
If it is Hippobroma, the toxins in it are lobeline are nicotine. You can get some of the toxin in you just by grabbing the prickly plant. Wear gloves when you pull it out.
Yippieee.!!
Yes, they are the Hippo.
Thank you Jnana, MetroSideros, TomTom ^^
About the toxin, nicotine, is it the same with those in cigarrettes?
When I was a child, I often take the leaf and cut them into pieces, just act like a chief and grilled them. The flower, I often "eat" them. Hmm, no wonder I just get addicted :p LoL
I have searched in Google, they say that a little amount of toxin in ur eyes could cause blindness!! How lucky I am, that was a dangerous toys since I often take the milky sap (with barehands) and make is "ingredient" for my cooks.
