I picked up this universal jig recently, can anyone give me any info on it. How it is used, what it is far, etc? The name and numbers on the jig read Universal-jig bench saw, Craftsman cat no 93231

It looks like a table saw tenoning fixture.

The dogs are obviously to hold material to the vertical surface. Looks like it could be used for cutting tenons.

One of the woodworking magazines has a monthly "what is this tool" feature - bet someone in their readership would have the answer. I will check to see exactly what the publication is called tonight.

It does look like a tenoning jig, though perhaps an old and very basic one. If you google 'tenoning jigs' you will find a lot more of them.

Maybe for use on a drill press and not a table saw ?

It's a jig to cut tenons. The clamps are adjustable depending on the width of the board you are clamping. The tape on the rear of the jig allows you to adjust the tenon cuts left and right of center.
