I had my late grandpa’s JM in a tiny pot for many years, and finally got the opportunity to plant it in the ground last winter. It leafed out fine this spring, and seemed to be doing well until it recently put out massive new growth. The new leaves are distorted and a bit mottled. The rest of the leaves have recently gotten a bit “crispy” as well, but we had extremely hot weather here for a bit, and that I’m guessing that could be part of the reason for the “crispiness.” I have looked at the affected leaves, and see no visible sign of insect infestation. I know next to nothing about JMs, and was wondering if someone could help me figure out what’s going on with my tree. It has a lot of sentimental value, and I’d hate to lose it. Thanks in advance for any insight into the problem.
