I was wondering if anyone grows bells peppers with success in colder zones and can share some tips. I choose early cultivars and space them three feet apart and sometimes the plants set huge fruit when they are tiny still and those fruits always suffer from sunscald until the plant gets large enough to shade the peppers. Should I be spacing them alot closer for more foliage coverage and support? I stake mine too. I ran out of space this year and planted my banana peppers two to a planting hole 1 foot apart and got a huge crop of peppers from those , they are awesome!
