I plan on ordering Starship Enterprise iris and Vulcan hosta today. Thanks for the suggestions. It will probably be a few years before the daylilies produce enough fans for me to sell or trade. I am also making "garden jewelry" of stepping stones with the Klingon symbol and the Vulcan IDIC symbol. Nancy Rogers, a friend is helping me cut the stained glass and will show me how to attach it to the cement stepping stones.
Dupage Science Fiction and Fantasy is a club that meets monthly since 1986. I was a former chair of DucKon, a science fiction convention of over 800 people that met in June of 2008. DucKon has been around since 1992. Lois Tilton was the first literary guest of honor at DucKon.
I must admit, I too collect daylilies (and some Iris) based on the names. This is what I have for Daylilies:
Beam Me Up
Entering Warp Speed
Life on Bajore
Resistance is futile
To Go Boldly
Which Way Jim
I have several iris with Star Trek/Wars names including:
Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Star Wars, Orbitor, Replicator, Dark Vader, Klingon Princess, Temporal Anomoly, Millenium Falcon, Starship Enterprise, Space Station, First Contact,
One spider daylily called Wild Wookie
Hosta: Captain Kirk and Vulcan (I plan to plan Deep Space Nine and Enterprise this summer)
This was my son's idea (now 26). We even have a grey bowling ball I want to make into a Death Star to put in the middle as an accent.
Always looking for other ideas and names.
Iris are my main flower, but anything to follow the theme is great!
The other daylily names seem great -- may have to look for them too!
