I have them all over my yard. I even have one that's about 20 years old that I've had to re-string twice. I refuse to give up on it. It's a Woodstock chime tuned in a melody based on the Parsch (sp?) Tribe in Africa. It has a very soothing sound.
There are a gazillion sites for wind chimes out there, aren't there, and it sounds like you're in touch with them. Thank you for sharing those valuable and interesting sites!
You are so welcomed...WindChimes are my thing. I've been trying to find out the source for the kinetic chimes in the movie "Twister". They just fascinate me! I know I probably can't aford the price of them but who knows, I may hit the lottery one day. I'll just settle for making my own one day!! ; )
I described the closest I've come - my girls and their sea-shells - but I agree, the huge ones do sound fabulous and if I had an extra $3000, it would have to go for college tuition . . . I think a home-made monster chime is the only answer.
Thank you, Cherryl! I actually forgot about chimes by the inch - I found the site a month or two ago, before I knew exactly how the article was going to turn out! The second link doesn't work, but I went to wind dancer chimes, and they look wonderful too. Thank you so much for this information. Now I feel like maybe the Stannard chimes out my window aren't so perfect. Of course they are, they sing DH to sleep every night! What more could I ask for?
