The flowers are beautiful; it is worth growing it for the flowers. If Okra is cooked right, I love it.
Cook (boil) a small amount with a bunch of stewed tomatoes, yellow summer squash chunked and zuchinni squash chunked. Throw in some Mrs. Dash flavoring and maybe a can of mushrooms. Yummy! I've also thrown it whole in my VitaMix and made easy soup from it.
If Okra is fried or in gumbo (the slime factor), then I love it not. Yuck!

Also, I read somewhere that Okra builds up the blood and should be eaten raw before surgery. Don't know if this is true or not.
