    The flowers are beautiful; it is worth growing it for the flowers. If Okra is cooked right, I love it.

    Cook (boil) a small amount with a bunch of stewed tomatoes, yellow summer squash chunked and zuchinni squash chunked. Throw in some Mrs. Dash flavoring and maybe a can of mushrooms. Yummy! I've also thrown it whole in my VitaMix and made easy soup from it.

    If Okra is fried or in gumbo (the slime factor), then I love it not. Yuck!

    I learned a ton from your article, thanks for sharing.

    Also, I read somewhere that Okra builds up the blood and should be eaten raw before surgery. Don't know if this is true or not. (Something about studies where Okra juice was used in place of blood transfusions.) Just googled that, found a reference to it here: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,820698,00.h...
