Take your clippers and a lighter with you when you go to gather flowers. Clip the flower and IMMEDIATELY apply flame to the cut end until it sizzles. Now when you put it in water, it will stay upright and proud instead of drooping over and dying in in a few hours. This is a great "secret" for making arrangements for your local fair competitions. :)

Thanks, Scot. I've used your "secret" on poppies, but I never would have thought to use it on QAL! (I guess I just use taller vases.)
