I bought my dh two "dwarf" Alberta peach trees for Fathers Day this year. His favorite fruit!

Your article is very informative and helpful. One comment, however. The (online) company I purchased the trees from said that more than one is needed for pollination. You mentioned that they are self-fertile.

You also said, "To ensure a good crop, most home gardeners will take a paintbrush and dabble it over the blooms when open." What does that mean?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Sue !

You can take a paintbrush and be the bee yourself, this way only one tree will give you fruit with out a mate. With a mate you will not need to take the paintbrush out there and play the bee.
