Thanks for the tips on trellising; this will be very helpful. I put my blackberries in a bad spot (runners all over the lawn) and am planning to move them to another location (bounded by the concrete driveway). Any tips?

I have a wild black berry that's getting out of control, so I'm waiting for the answer too...

Most brambles can get out of control. That's why I chose a trellis... I now have a defined area and any runner outside of it gets dug and transplanted (or traded). Transplant whenever the season in your area is appropriate. Having something like concrete for a root boundary is nice, but most of us don't have that luxury.

There are some tame brambles that do not have runners; but to me, the taste of the wild berries is so much better that I just deal with runners as best I can.

The wild black berries are pretty small. I do intend to trellis. My main problem is that I just stuck it in the ground, not expecting it to survive, so I didn't think about where I put it.
