Everyone should have their swap buddy's name now, but if you haven't, please contact me.

Let your imagination go wild. Decorate them anyway you like. Let's share ideas here about what mediums to use for decorations. You can even fill them with something if you like.

All swaps should be mailed out by September 5th.
If that isnít enough time for some of you, or if you have an unforeseen problem with mailing your swap by then, your buddy would appreciate a d-mail to let them know.

Now, open your fridges, look for a glass jar holding foodÖ and eat it up really quick.

Jaye, guess it means I have to be patient right?

OMG came back from lunch noticed the arm on my glasses is gone, so went back down to undeground parking in search of it, had hoped it happened on my way back into the office, but no..so all of a sudden I can feel uncomfortable in the bra, so here I'm grabbing here and there just hoping maybe the arm fell you know where, just inbetween and here 2 men were walking back to elevator, checking me out not sure of what I'm doing to myself...shook my head, said I was looking for an arm, they just laughed but am sure they'll tell the office there is some cook running around the office...

Jay has sent me one BEAUTIFUL repurposed jar I want all of you to look at... Bet none of you ever thought about doing something like this with your jar... I know I didn't...
It was a quart sized Mayo jar from what I can tell.
NOW It's a lamp... with a wooden lid for a shade... then hand painted in a nautical theme... I can use this lamp almost anywhere in my house, since I have nautical all over... I LOVE IT.
Thank you so much Jaye... I've got the perfect place for it.

Well, ladies... I'm so happy that I got some of you to thinking about re purposing stuff you would normally throw away... That was what I was hoping to do with this swap... it's amazing how much we throw away, then go buy something that resembles what we just tossed. We could have re purposed that tin can lid, or that beer bottle, or those butter dishes... kinda makes you think, doesn't it?

This is a fun jar art swap, for sure, BJ. I'm so thankful I didn't miss it. I enjoyed doing my buddies. It will go out in the mail Tues. It's ready, I just waited too late in the week to mail it.

Here comes my treasures Jaye crafted for me.

And here they are all together for a group picture.

The rolled checkered cloth is what the doll jar was wrapped in. It's a cotton pillow case. I have placed my plastic container of flour inside it. Both now fit nicely side by side on a shelf in my pantry. When I open the door, Ms Patti Pss.ketti just smiles back at me.

Jaye, sistah, you done good. I'm overjoyed with your thoughtfulness. Bless you, sweetie!

Yes, BJ, I feel the love! Anyone who talks with Jaye feels the radiance.

Deborah, I truly had fun doing those jars.
Patti was supposed to be the first, but I ran into problems trying to do legs...and had to think outside the box for her.
That will be the exact place where I'd place that beautiful butterfly. Kel picked the butterfly when I told him that you loves butterflys!
Yep, Faith Jar was done with prayers and love.

You won't believe this, now I have to do some more faith jars for my church sistahs!! And another Patti Pss..ketti for MIL!!

When BJ dmailed me your name, I practically cried!! Love manifests itself... I hope these jars show how much I love you!

Thank you BJ. You have faith in me and there's enough of Betty's encouraging words too. As for you Stacey..I owe you one for keeping it quiet for this long!! It's so unlike you!!

PS..I did get my fingers glued a time or two!

Don't tell God how big your storm is, Tell the storm how big your God is. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and self-control." 2 Timothy 1:7

Oh, Jaye... I do have faith in your abilities... shucks... anyone who can construct a whole quilt, can do almost anything... I think.

I love that "Don't tell God..." message... and that verse is what got me through many many years of depression while raising my kids... I actually wrote that verse on a piece of paper and taped it to my bathroom mirror... read it every morning while getting ready for work... and it got me through some really tough times. Often times that verse can mean something different everyday, and for every circumstance... but it's a powerful message for everyone.

Darn it - did it again. Didn't post or watch this thread and lost it. Does anyone else do that?

Betty, your story about searching for your arm was funny. Did you ever find it? It reminded me of a time I had a bumble bee down the back of my pants - inside my underwear! It's barbed leg got stuck in the fabric and stung me 8 times before I got 1/2 undressed to get it out. (public community garden) Afraid to drive home with a bee possibly still in my pants, I had to ask the only person in the area - a retired professor - to look down my pants and tell me if there was a bee in there. LOL! I've told that story many times over the years. wonder if he has, too? lol!

Jaye, you really went all out. Something for the soul, the stomach, the nose, the pantry, and the emergency! The names are so cute! You did a great job. And BJ's lamp is as cute as can be.

My jar is TOTALLY different from what I originally thought I'd do. It's taking a little time but coming along. Leave it to me to think of something PRACTICAL. A true artist doesn't worry with practical. They focus on beauty. Oh well, although it is practical, I'm trying to make it beautiful, too!

Gosh, I've been busy lately. Impossible to stay up with you gals. DH and I went to an outdoor Bob Dylan concert Tuesday night in town (Little Rock). Any Dylan fans out there? We got a hotel room so we wouldn't have to drive the 40 minutes back home. Had dinner before the concert (2 glasses of wine), one beer at the concert, and stopped at a club as we walked to the hotel (another glass of wine). Still don't know why I had a headache the next morning. lol! Spent today at DH's office overseeing the delivery of new furniture for the reception area. Will go back tomorrow. So far everyone likes the reception desk, sofa and two chairs I picked out. Whew! What if they didn't????? Now the objective is to find end tables, a rug, lamps, etc. Will probably spend most of tomorrow looking for those.

Linda, I think my first album as a teenager was best of Louis Armstrong, so it doesn't necessarily show your age; you could be a weirdo like me who even at a young age liked older music. My early music memories are of listening to Johnny Horton... and Air supply and Billy Idle; I guess I come by my eclectic music tastes honestly.

Laura, (even if his voice is worse for wear) How would you know? LOL! With Dylan it's hard to tell. We've seen him twice here in Little Rock. Last time Willie Nelson was with him. That was interesting! This time there was no other band but his. He did something very 'Dylan like' and changed up the words or rhythem so that it was difficult to tell which song he was singing. I love the outfits they wear. Wish I knew the story behind his hat, red scarf, and long jacket. DH is very knowlegable about Dylan so I asked him why he thought he chose that outfit and he said 'Because he thinks it's cool'. Well, duh.

MY SWAP JARS WERE DELIVERED YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, Joycet painted the cutest prim gardening angel on one jar and filled the other with jelly beans! Opened it too late last night and have to leave early this am so can't post photos until later but definitely will. Don't want you to miss seeing them. The prim jar was kind of 'white washed' overall then she painted the angel on the side holding a string of gardening tools and seed packets. She's wearing one of those sweet prim dresses with flowers on it with a long plaid apron over it. So detailed - even her wings are painted in a detailed plaid. It's finished with a little gingham checked bow and raffia arund the top. It's filled with cotton balls - you know - those things you can never have enough of? lol! The other jar is a plain mason jar too pretty to cover up. It has a beautiful fruit inside of a circle design embossed on the side. She 'primmed' it up with a red and black checked fabric under the lid. The jelly beans look yummy! Every color you can imagine. (hint for any future swap buddies - food is always appreciated. lol!) Thank you Joycet! I'm amazed at your artistic skills.

Gotta go before DH catches me still on the 'puter. We are riding into the office together today. Movers are coming and I need to do a few things before they get there. Will post photos as soon as possible! Have a great day everyone.

She is a warmhearted sweetie that's for sure!

Linda Kay, that's a wonderful idea! It's going to be a special special treat for y'alls round-up! If you need more crystals, let me know. I can give you some of mine if you see you're running short.

I just ordered 2 pounds, so I think that will be enough? A little goes a long way. Thanks for the offer.

Morning all...or I guess it is afternoon to most of you now! I can't wait to see everyones jars.
The DH had to leave early this am but I found the piece he was working on for me all polished and waiting on top of my computer this morning...I think he will will probably deserve most of the credit for my project...it too will leave on Tuesday (payday)...but I am hoping my buddy will find it worth the wait...

Laura, Bon pops up when she's through with her iris patch. Some nights she gets truly exhausted to sit down at her pc.

I was just a little worried. I was looking for a post I remembered being from her and realized she hadn't posted on here since the 12th.

Ok... didn't find that one. So we'll see her when she surfaces.

BTW... for those who like Bob Dylan, or Woody Guthrie, you might check Ramblin' Jack Elliott. He was Woody's heir apparent and Bob Dylan was closely connected to him when he first started. They have a mixed relationship, but they've both played many of each others songs. There is also a pretty good documentry on him called The ballad of Ramblin' Jack. He was an interesting person. He plays more Cowboy ballads than Bob Dylan, but he also does quite a bit of folk.

This on is kind of quiet so you'll need to turn the volume up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2z5F11ZLi0&feature=related

This one sounds a lot like Dylan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3G_kLxZ8FM&feature=related
