| GREAT JOB, Marna. Not only well-written, but outstanding photographs. I hope every DG gardener reads the article.
I once read about buttterflies, "[i]t's their gentle nature, striking colors, or graceful flight" that makes them special. . . And if one actually lands on you, somehow you feel honored, as if you were singled out as an especially trustworthy companion." Don't you know that is true as you view the colorful beauties you captured in your photos.
BTW, I'm glad to know your real name. Mrs_Ed is hard to type!

| Thanks so much Martha! I enjoyed taking those pictures and gathering the others from all of you that submit to bug files. I only wish I had more variety up here for photography.
Hee. I could have told you my name. Looks better in SERIF type (Mar-na vs. Ma-ma!).

| Haha. Marna -- Mama -- very easy to type. I've already heard compliments on your article over in Mid-South forum.

| Nice article, and if it's any comfort to you, I've seen more butterflies than usual this year. |

Sorry, I couldn't resist. : )

| Melanie, I don't know WHAT you are talking about! (hee). Corrected, thanks.
Please tell our readers what insect makes cocoons… |

| Moths make cocoons with the silk they spin. Butterflies make a chrysalis which is actually like a layer of skin they create. They molt for the last time, the old skin comes off, and poof! They're a chrysalis! It's one of the differences between moths and butterflies. Now we're all educated. : ) |
