This is a bit odd - I have two rudbeckia - one is goldsturm and the other is a hirta. The goldsturm has already lost its petals and seems to be done for the season - much earlier than normal. The hirta is still going strong.
I did notice that some of the goldsturm's leaves were getting dark brown spots on them a few weeks ago. Is there any disease to which the rudbeckia are prone? Since goldsturm seems to be done for the year, can I divide it now or do I have to wait for the spring? It's grown to a pretty good-sized clump.
Thanks!
